Maxed out!

I really wanted a maxi skirt this season, a high waisted one to be precise, because I feel as though high waisted ones are more flattering!

But I've been having trouble finding on that is the correct length on me, and I'm also really picky on colours, I either wanted a maroon one or an electric blue one, so not surprisingly, there wasn't a lot out there that met my high demands!

So my darling mother came to the rescue! My mum, like most asian mothers, is a pro with the sewing machine, so I went to Rochester market with her, early one morning (it really was early in the morning, we had to get there for 7!) and picked out the perfect colour for me. I ideally wanted a chiffon maxi skirt, but I would have then have had to have gotten some lining for the skirt too, so I instead chose a normal material. (I'm not sure what the material is called, I'll ask my mum and get back to you).

My mum made it in less than a day, I had bought a maxi skirt from primark that she could use as a template, and by the time I got back work in the evening, it was made!

The maxi skirt was perfect, exactly what I wanted, especially in length! And it even had pockets! And here is the finished product!

Obviously the picture has been edited using good old instagram, mainly because instagram just makes my outfits look that whole lot better! I am planning on teaming my maxi skirt with my leather jacket, because I am in love with my faux leather jacket, it's been one of my best buys, I wear it with everything! even asian suits! I would wear my maxi dress with printed t shirts and vests, tucked in, i might even see if i can wear it with my converse! I do need to get a slim belt for the skirt too!

I would probably team my maxi skirt up with something like this, a printed t shirt that I purchased from George at Asda. I don't really like buying things from there, mainly because people off all ages will buy the same thing from there, but this was so cute, like who doesn't love moustaches / facial hair right?! And it was under £10 which is just a bargain!

The maxi dress can also be dressed up, I wore it out on friday night with a black vest, my blazer and a collar necklace, and with it I wore some black suede wedges.

Ok so my scarf kind of hides the whole outfit, but it looked good, I promise! Aside from the mirror effect, this picture has not been edited, it just happened to be really good lighting!
